Social Psychology For My Chapter Evaluation Paper

I decided to choose Chapter 14: Social Psychology for my chapter evaluation paper because I love to study people and am interested in learning how they are influenced by different factors such as friend groups and society. I hope to learn a lot from this chapter because it influences our lives everyday and can influence how we behave and act. I want to learn more about attributions and how they affect one’s behavior along with common stereotypes. The first set of people featured in this chapter includes Joe and Suzanne. Joe and Suzanne’s relationship plays a huge role in social psychology since online dating is becoming more and more common in today’s world. I can relate to their relationship because a dating application is how I met my†¦show more content†¦Looking at the attributional dimension types I can relate to the controllable dimension. When it comes to hanging out with friends, they always tend to be late so I usually show up a few minutes late in order to cut back on the time that I am waiting for them. Doctors and nurses should have low fundamental attribution error and shouldn’t make a quick decision that is considered prejudice towards an individual entering the emergency room for medical care. I will use attribution in the future by not making quick decisions about the people coming into the hospital when I become a nurse and instead take into consideration all of the medical factors involved. After reading about Ester Grant’s death in the emergency room it hits heart because my passion is to help others and nobody should be treated like that (Licht, Hull Ballantyne, 559). The next concept that is most meaningful to me is social influence. Social influence is described as how a person is affected by others (Licht, Hull Ballantyne, 565). One form of social influence that I use is called persuasion. Persuasion contains a source, message, and an audience (Licht, Hull Ballantyne, 566). I used persuasion t his weekend with my boyfriend when I tried to persuade him to get a puppy. I talked about the benefits of getting a puppy to have a companion.
